Chocolate mousse can be made with different recipes and I chose here a very simple mousse recipe with custard powder. I just wanted to give this cake a try so I just wore my baker’s cap and got ready to enjoy my own homemade Chocolate Mousse Ganache Cake.

                                    Ingredients For Chocolate Mousse Ganache Cake

For Chocolate Cake

  • All Purpose Flour – 1 Cup
  • Condensed Milk – 1/2 Cup
  • Milk – 1 Cup
  • Cocoa Powder – 1/3 Cup
  • Baking Powder – 1 tbs
  • Baking Soda 1/2 tbs
  • Powder Sugar – 1/2 Cup
  • Vegetable Oil – 1/2 Cup

For Chocolate Mousse

  • Milk – 1/2 liter
  • Vanilla Custard Powder – 3 tbs
  • Dark Chocolate – 1/3 Cup
  • Sugar – 4 tbs

For Chocolate Ganache

  • Heavy Cream – 1/2 Cup
  • Dark Chocolate – 1/2 Cup
  • Sugar to taste

Chocolate Mousse & Ganache Cake

                                      Method For Chocolate Mousse Ganache Cake

For Chocolate Cake

  • Sift all purpose flour ,baking soda and baking powder in a bowl.
  • Mix condensed milk , powder sugar , oil and milk and beat well.
  • Add all purpose flour , baking soda and baking powder and beat well for 3 to 4 mins till the mixture smooth and light.
  • Grease the micro proof plastic container with oil.
  • Pour the cake batter into it.
  • Microwave for 5 mins and let it stand for another 5 min in the microwave.
  • Let it cool and invert over the platter and tap to unmould.
  • Cut the cake onto 3 layer.

For Chocolate Mousse

  • Take 1 cup of milk and add 3 tbs of custard powder in it.
  • Boil the remaining milk and add the remaining milk and custard powder mixture.
  • Add dark chocolate and sugar.
  • Cook for a minute over medium heat.
  • Let it cool in the room temperature.

For Chocolate Ganache

  • Microwave the cream for 30 sec only(just to heat it not to boil).
  • Add dark chocolate and mix well to dissolve the chocolate well.
  • Add sugar to make it sweet.
  • Allow to cool 15 mins before pouring to cake.

How to Proceed

  • Take one layer of cake , place the chocolate mousse over it.
  • Cover it with another layer of cake and again pour chocolate mousse over it.
  • Cover it with third layer of cake.
  • Pour lots of ganache over top and sides of the cake and let it fall down the sides of the cake.
  • Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours to settle down the ganache.
