If you are a cricket buff like I am, 15th Feb 2015, that is the coming Sunday, would be more of a worry for you rather than the day prior to that. Not that I am marking 14th Feb as a useless day (so if you are a lady reading this, please don’t get offended; you will love the end result of this post more than your husbands will !!) but for the second best day of the year (the first one being your wife’ birthday) I will keep another post running some time soon!
So yeah shifting the focus back to cricket, I am sure your mind is already running plans to find a way to catch hold of the TV remote to be able to watch the epic battle that India vs Pakistan matches are normally considered to be. After all TV remote fight is nothing less than an Ind vs Pak battle. The Valentine day’ gifts, a day prior, would surely help but if you are looking for some more, I present to you five lovely recipes that you could churn in no time to give your awesome wife a well deserved Sunday rest (and that win over the TV remote to you). If she can be kept out of the kitchen with no worries, I bet you a free treat the TV remote will not get her touch for a full one day!

India vs Pakistan 2015 and TV Remote Fight: Morning Session
If you are in India, pay special attention to the breakfast time. The match will start at around 9:00 am IST, so you need to make sure that the awesome work you did previous day gets carried over on THE next morning. I suggest 2 items here that can be the best start to the morning considering that we are still not out of winter and the early morning cold wind is just a perfect time for these kind of recipes.
I leave it to you to decide in between the two! If the lady of the house is comfortable with deep-fried in the morning; go for mixed palak pakodas (Spinach Fritters) as they are healthy and the perfect tea time snacks as well.

Although if you need an item that is a bit heavy feeling (to last till lunch and keep her lethargy going) yet looks tempting and light; pav bhaji is even a better option!!

The first session should last around 3.5 hrs which means you need to make sure you start the lunch preparation somewhere around 12:30 pm IST and be done with it just before 1:15 pm IST (Remember the Note I put before we started with recipes). During this time if you think there is no danger in losing the territory, you may provide the remote to your beloved. Just make sure you don’t lose it altogether 😉 .
Looking at this Chilly Ginger Mushroom Fry I would say its the best to be cooked in quick time. All you need is make sure you have all the ingredients ready before hand and all chopping done. This is only treated as a starter so make sure you don’t give all the 45 min to it or else the main course dish will make you miss the start of second half. Utilize the innings break to prepare this starter as well as the main item I describe next!

Preparation Time: 7 min Cooking Time: 15 min
As with Chilly Ginger Mushroom Fry, get your ingredients ready before hand. Both the items are lunch items and need some fry so you should be able to do them in parallel in the kitchen. Both these don’t take that much time and are quick recipes as specified on Flavour Basket so the innings break should be good enough. You may substitute potatoes in place of paneer (cottage cheese) in case you think the lady will like that more.

Preparation Time: 10 min Cooking Time: 30 min
Unless you are really fast I assume you won’t get the time for bread. And since you can’t do away with this, I suggest you order some from a nearby restaurant. Looking at the items I suggest, I would say Rumali Roti would best fit. As obvious, I let you decide on the quantity!!
So while we keep an eye on the watch, don’t miss out on the healthy aspect of the items you are preparing. Just to add to the lunch menu, this salad would be a real treat to add the perfect partner to the other recipes. More so because you can make it tangy as well as healthy at the same time.

Again, the lunch items should be good enough for the second innings that you go through. But just to wind up a lovely day being the host for your better half; lets end it up with a nice evening dessert.
